- Competitive USAG Development program
- Level 3 is the beginner competitive level. The goals of the Level 3 program are to focus attention on skill development not the score. Level 3 gymnasts compete with one of the rhythmic apparatus in addition to the floor (free hand) exercise. Level 3 gymnast compete with up to 2 gymnast performing at a time. The routines may be compulsory or optional but each club must have the same routines. Level 3 gymnast compete at local and invitational meets.
- Level 4* is the second competitive level of rhythmic gymnastics and the first competitive level of competition at State and Regional Championships. Level 4 gymnasts compete with two of the rhythmic apparatus in addition to Synchronized Group Floor (free hand) exercise. The routines may be compulsory or optional but each club must have the same routines.
- Level 5* is the most advanced compulsory level. The Floor and 3 apparatus
routines may be compulsory or optional. Level 5 gymnast can share a routine with other gymnasts or may have an individual routine choreographed. Level 5 gymnast compete with three of the rhythmic apparatus in addition to the floor ( free hand) exercise. - Level 6* is the first transitional level between the compulsory program and the FIG Optional levels. The goal is to develop flexibility, strength and handling skills while improving skill levels. Level 6 gymnasts compete with three of the rhythmic apparatus in addition to the floor (free hand) exercise.
- * Level 4-5-6 Fall (prior to December 31st of the current year): all gymnasts will compete a Group floor routine. Each Region will host a L4-6 Group Regionals prior to December 31st of the current year; participation in this event will be required in order to compete in the individual apparatus events Levels 4-6 from January-June, all of which comprise the Open and Development Program National Championships.
- Level 7 is designed to prepare the gymnasts for the advanced skills of the FIG Program. The difficulty values for Level 7 skills are based on the current FIG Code of Points. Level 7 gymnast compete with three of the rhythmic apparatus in addition to the floor ( free hand) exercise.
- Level 8 is designed to prepare the gymnasts for the advanced skills of the FIG Program. The difficulty values for Level 8 skills are based on the current FIG Code of Points. Level 8 gymnast compete with three of the rhythmic apparatus in addition to the floor (free hand) exercise.
- Level 9 is the level for the accomplished rhythmic gymnast who has demonstrated that she can easily perform basic FIG requirements and is ready for the challenge of full FIG optional routine requirements.
- Level 10 is the level for gymnasts who qualify to the USA National Championships
- Elite Status: the top 12 athletes (junior and senior) in the all-around competition at USA National Championships earn elite status
- National Team: the top 8 athletes in the Elite Finals at USA National Championships (junior and senior) are members of the U.S. National Team.
